Pharmaceutical & Medical Professionals, a Healthcare Professionals Group business is currently recruiting for a Medical Officer to undertake Clinical Evaluation of Medical Devices and related products.

This organization takes a leading role in assessing and evaluating the safety and efficacy of medical devices and therapeutics across Australia.

About the opportunity

You will be providing Clinical Evaluation of medical devices, including in vitro diagnostic tests, and monitoring them throughout their life-cycle to ensure they continue to meet an appropriate level of quality, safety and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of clinical data submitted by sponsors for medical devices covering a variety of therapeutic areas, with opportunities to evaluate in-vitro diagnostics
  • Preparation of succinct and accurate reports based on pre- and post – market data
  • Provision of clinical recommendations for decision making on applications for inclusion of medical devices in department assessments, and undertaking post-market analysis of medical devices (such as recalls and Device Incident Report investigation)
  • Assess and make decisions relating to applications from medical practitioners for supply of unregistered medical devices through the Special Access and Authorized Prescriber schemes
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Skills and Experience

  • Medical degree / qualifications
  • Experience in various clinical disciplines which make use of medical devices
  • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
