Land Secured for New Ambulance Station in South Australia
Land secured for a new purpose-built ambulance station in Strathalbyn, South Australia.
In yet another funding boost to the pre-hospital emergency health care sector, SA government has secured land for a $3.9 million ambulance station, following an announcement that the South Australia Ambulance Service will also hire an additional 74 ambulance officers.
“We know that the region has an ageing population – the new station will not only support SAAS in their current service delivery but will provide greater operational flexibility in the future.” said Minister for Health and Wellbeing, Stephen Wade.
The Marshall Liberal government is committed to upgrading and rebuilding ambulance stations across the state to ensure that our ambos can deliver the very best care to all South Australians. This includes a focus on health services to ease pressure on emergency departments, reduce ambulance ramping and deliver care closer to home.
The population of the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula is booming, so it is important that the new ambulance station accounts for future growth and the crews are well equipped to support the community’s out-of-hospital health care needs.
