About Department
Support Services is a large and varied department that manages support services, cleaning, ward clerical teams, car parking, and patient transport. The service operates across multiple locations within St Vincent’s including Fitzroy and St Georges Kew, to service these areas the department is made up of a team of coordinators who lead these groups. We will provide you with an orientation to the role and a supportive and learning workplace that will encourage participation in our very diverse team.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Patient Transport Booking Officer to join the Support Services team on a full time basis.
The Patient Transport Booking Officer is accountable for the booking of all patient transports, the coordination of external patient transport services, to ensure the provision of an economical and efficient patient transport service.
Duties
- Ensure timely response and accurate processing of all requests for patient transport received via phone or paper communication
- Monitor and ensure the internal Patient Transport data base is accurate and up to date
- Coordinate quarterly meetings with key stakeholders.
- Investigate all complaints and/or patient transport incidents
- Assist the manager to ensure efficient financial management of patient transport to meet budget targets
- Maintain and improve the effectiveness of the patient transport booking services
- Processing of accounts payable to our finance department in a timely manner
- Assist the Support Services Department as required.
Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to plan and organize work schedule and rosters
- Previous experience with a non-urgent patient transport provider preferred
- Highly developed customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet service KPI’s
- Demonstrated planning and organization skills
- Ability to problem solve and work independently
- Commitment to improving performance
