CareFlight is an Australian not-for-profit aeromedical organization. Their mission is to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community.
They operate from locations in NSW, northern WA and the Top End of the NT. Our specially trained doctors, nurses and paramedics use helicopters, aeroplanes, medi-jets and road ambulances to bring a hospital level of care to over 5,000 patients each year. They also deploy medical professionals to remote oil, gas & mining sites, both onshore and offshore.
The role
Currently have opportunities for experienced mechanical and avionics engineers to join CareFlight’s Patient Transport Service (PTS) team based at Bankstown Airport.
Operating throughout regional northern NSW and Sydney, this service will facilitate the transportation of low emergency patients (with a dedicated nurse) via medically configured aircraft and patient transfer vehicles.
As a key member of operations, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals, be part of a leading aeromedical organization and enjoy a roster that provides work / life balance. Reporting to the Engineering Base Manager this role will be responsible for coordinating and performing all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the aircraft.
Other key responsibilities include:
- conducting regular servicing of ground support equipment
- carrying out maintenance of aircraft components
- managing the timely completion of maintenance and engineering activities
- supervising unlicensed engineers and/or contractors as and when required
- raising matters of non-compliance with CASA regulations and CareFlight policies and procedures with appropriate personnel
- completing maintenance documentation correctly
- maintaining aircraft and engine log books
- maintaining personal tools and tool boxes in accordance with CareFlight’s Maintenance Procedures Manual
- maintaining CareFlight aircraft within the scope of all licensing requirements control and procedural manuals
- attending to correspondence, emails and phone calls, as required
- adhering to practical steps to ensure safe practices in the workplace, identifying hazards and using the CareFlight Safety Reporting System.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- CASA Part 66 AME License on Beech 200 Series (PWC PT6)
- a team player approach to work but able to work autonomously effectively
- the ability to problem solve and provide workable solutions
- outstanding organization skills and be self-motivated
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to work with staff and crew from varying work groups and levels.
- a professional, service-orientated attitude
In addition to the above, a CASA Part 66 AME License on Kawasaki/MBB BK117-B2 (LTS101) aircraft will be highly regarded.
