The Role
They are seeking part time and casual Patient Services Officers to be responsible for multiple aspects of the pre-admission and admission process for our elective and emergency patients.
This role will include processing of elective bookings for surgical and medical patients as well and other service booking requests, conducting health fund eligibility checks, admitting and discharging of patients, responding promptly to inquiries and requests, handling patient accounts, compiling estimates, general administrative duties and entering patient’s details to create admissions.
This role may also involve admitting patients and completing fund eligibility checks for patients who are admitted via Emergency Department.
In this role you will liaise closely with doctors, secretaries, and patients, responding promptly to bookings inquiries, requests and general administrative duties.

- Ability to cope under pressure and make informed decisions according to hospital needs
Previous administration experience in the health care sector, medical or health fund industry would be advantageous. Patient Services is open 7 days a week from 6.00 am 8.00 pm and the Emergency Department is a 24 hour service. Shift times may vary as per a rotating roster.
