Queensland Ambulance Service is in need of a skilled emergency medical dispatcher to continue delivering quality medical transport services. As an important operational role working with other allied emergency care services under Queensland Ambulance Services, the emergency medical dispatchers serve as a trusted front line communications bridge between patients and health care providers.
Your job responsibilities include working as a full-time Emergency Medical Dispatcher. Receive emergency calls and perform emergency assessment over the phone. Give safe and clear pre-arrival advice. Coordinate with Ambulance Services team for dispatch directions and further instructions.

You can be trained on the job for a Certificate III and IV in Ambulance Communications in 12 months starting from employment.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Requires proficient communication skills in verbal and written forms.
- Has sound understanding on what it means to work as an emergency medical dispatcher role.
- Must possess 40wpm typing speed and 95% accuracy.
- Prior experience with call centre, emergency services or community services is desirable but not mandatory. Once appointed, you will be trained ready for the job.

The QAS delivers ambulance services from 290 response locations through 15 Local Ambulance Service Networks (LASNs), geographically aligned with Queensland Health’s Hospital and Health Services’ boundaries.
