Helpful Computer Shortcuts
Designed To Help You On PC or MAC
We know that online learning can be difficult. Some of us just like to jump on social media, and don’t know how to use a computer to its full extent. Here are some helpful computer shortcuts that may help with your online learning experience:
PC Computers

- Desktop Location: Your desktop is your main screen you see when opening your computer.
- File Explorer: File explorer is the yellow folder icon found on the bottom menu bar on your screen.
- Documents Folder: Documents may save, in default, to your documents folder. This folder can be found in your File Explorer.
- F5: Refresh your current internet window/page.
- Ctrl+N: Opens new internet tab or new/blank document.
- Ctrl+A: Select all text.
- Ctrl+B: Highlighted text will go bold.
- Ctrl+I: Highlighted text will go italic.
- Ctrl+U: Highlighted text will go underline.
- Ctrl+F: Opens a find a word menu for a document or window.
- Ctrl+S: Save current document or file.
- Ctrl+C: Highlighted text will be copied.
- Ctrl+V: Text that was highlighted will be pasted.
- Ctrl+X: Highlighted text will be cut.
- Ctrl+Z: Undo the last action.
- Ctrl+Y: Redo the last action.
- Ctrl+P: Prints the current page or document.
- Alt+F4: Closes the open document or window.
MAC Computers

- Desktop Location: Your desktop is your main screen you see when opening your computer.
- Finder: Finder is a smiling screen icon on the mac menu, click this to access your files.
- Application Folder: In Finder there is an application folder where all apps and programs are stored.
- Command+H: Hides all documents so you can see the desktop.
- Command+N: Opens new internet tab or new/blank document.
- Command+A: Select all text.
- Command+B: Highlighted text will go bold.
- Command+I: Highlighted text will go italic.
- Command+U: Highlighted text will go underline.
- Command+F: Opens a find a word menu for a document or window.
- Command+S: Save current document or file.
