A position has become available for reliable and fully experienced Patient Transport Officer, and or an Ambulance Attendant for immediate start from Blackburn Depot day.

One would need to be an Australian resident and have all verifiable qualifications in order to apply for this position including latest CPR update.Meditrans Patient Transport Pty Ltd is a unique boutique family company that providing non-emergency patient transport service for over 26 years. Meditrans do not contract to AV or Government and only operate day shifts with occasional long distance starts from Blackburn.

They are seeking experienced CASUAL Patient Transport Officers to complement crews in the provision of high quality patient care transporting patients with a wide variety of medical conditions in accordance to Meditrans policies and Non-Emergency Patient Transport Regulations

Key responsibilities will include:

Perform patient assessment, intervention as necessary and report the effectiveness of any intervention in accordance with Meditrans policies, NEPT CPP’s and regulations within prescribed scope of practice. Perform independently and problem solve as well as work collaboratively with other team members as required. Demonstrate proficiency in written and verbal communication and be able to provide clear concise patient hand overs to health care professionals and in patient care records.

Maintain contact with office controller to ensure staff safety and accurate and timely job allocation. Present and promote a positive and professional image of Meditrans to other health professionals, clients, including patients and the general public.

Qualifications and Experience;

Ambulance Transport Attendant – Qualified as Ambulance Transport Attendant, Ambulance Officer.
Patient Transport Officer – Minimum qualification of Cert III Non-Emergency Patient Transport.
Applicants will be required to hold a current full Victorian Driver’s License with a clean record and have the ability to drive in both city and country traffic conditions.
A current satisfactory National Police Check and recent CPR update is required for employment in this industry. A Working with Children Check may be required after initial introductory casual employment period.
Must be experience in the use of Ferno manual stretchers and Zoll biomedicals.Rates of pay is $31.00 (PTO) and $35.00 (ATA) per hour on a minimum 6 hr shift which may extend to 10 plus hours as the case may be.
Standby Rate is $6.00 per hour with your commitment to be ready to work in less than 40 minutes when called.
