They are currently seeking a Senior Emergency Services Officers to join Telfer team. Your key accountability will be to provide Emergency Response leadership and direction to the Emergency Response Team at Telfer.

This will ensure that the Telfer operations and assets are managed in an efficient and effective manner whilst reducing the risk of injuries or harm to personnel, the environment and company assets.

The FIFO roster for this role is 8 days on / 6 days off.

Located in the Great Sandy Desert in Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognizes the importance of work-life balance.Comfortable, well furnished rooms include Foxtel and DVD players, and site offers quality food with healthy options, medical care, and sporting and recreation activities. Families are welcomed several times a year to open days.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have outstanding leadership skills and be the subject matter expert in both surface and underground emergency response.

You will lead the ER team during emergency incidents and identify specific training needs to maintain operational readiness. Having sound awareness of operational safety issues and an excellent personal safety record is key in this role.

Emergency Services Officer underground

You’ll also meet the below criteria:

  • You will be customer focused with the ability to cooperatively interact with stakeholders across all areas of the business.
  • A Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue, with extensive underground experience and a Certificate IV in Health Care – Ambulance are pre-requisites for this role.
  • A Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing and/or a Certificate II in Security Management will be highly regarded.
